The first Plunge
for a Purpose took place at Goose Rocks Beach on Sunday, February 12th at 2
p.m. More than 20
brave souls waded into the chilly Atlantic to raise funds for the Keith McClelland Community
Music Foundation.
Each 'plunger' was
dedicated to raising at least $100 and 'non-plungers' offered their
moral and financial support to the plunger of their choice. Some of
our plungers
elected a proxy to represent them in the 'run to the waves.'
The day was sunny, the air temperature was around 20 degrees and
with a
biting wind of 15 mph, the wind chill was 4 degrees!
It was a great event, definitely filled with chills and thrills.
We raised more than $5,000! Donations from our Snowbird plungers can be made through this website by
going to our donation page or sending a
check to The Church on the Cape, Memo: Music Foundation.
